Ravens are tricksters and very smart. I love to wake up in the morning to their shouting voices. Is there a story behind this prince holding an eagle feather? I watched the resident lake eagle sitting on a high branch shredding his fresh fish while ravens sat in the surrounding branches broadcasting their raucous voices. He totally tolerated them. It would seem that they probably finished whatever was left of his meal. Nature’s balance.

The hawk is the messenger of the Great Spirit. Living in the mountains it is possible to become complacent about hawk sightings. Hawks are everywhere. Yesterday at the lake a friend alerted me to a red tail flying overhead. For some reason the experience was filled with wonder for me. Nice. A message?

Last weekend I was sitting on a rock in the middle of Seely Creek and dragonflies were gliding close to the water coursing past me on their way upstream. I think they are so magical with their iridescent wings glinting in the sun.
