As I created this bear and put on a hat I couldn’t help but recall all those Christmas holidays when the children were little. There was always at least one family pet who would be sentenced to the degradation of wearing hats or antlers. Well…it was always the dog because the cat just wouldn’t put up with it.

It’s the raven decorating his nest with stolen baubles. They can’t resist bringing home things that catch their eye. And what more glittery than a Christmas ornament and some pretty ribbon. My…… won’t his home be spiffy for the holidays.

She is resting on her batik sarong. Perhaps waiting for a dish of ocean perch for kitties. She is one of those pampered pussies.

Spirit bears are rare black bears with white fur. Almost of them live on islands along the rain forest coast of British Columbia. They are not polar bears or albinos. Scientifically, their white fur is the product of a recessive gene. Mystically, there are many legends about the spirit bear that are told among the native american tribes.

Crows are sentinels of the forest. They will call out an alert  warning of the presence of intruders or predators. And not just for their fellow crows, but also other species. Very smart.
