This painting of a Great Pyrenees was inspired by a pair of them who are walked by their humans every day at the lake. They are affectionally called “Pyrs’ by those who know them. Gentle giants.

Winter wolf. Frosty disappearence upon clouds of freezing breath into the cold blue moon.

A friend sent me a photo of a baby porcupine….all curled up into a ball with just his little head and paws sticking out. I couldn’t resist painting him.

After seeing the finery that the mountain ravens were sporting, Betty unpacked her special duds. Knowing that mating season is close at hand she is sporting an outfit sure to arouse the interest of a certain big boy duck that she has seen paddling around the south end of the lake.

bobcat

A few days ago on the mountain a bobcat like this one was treed by a wolf hybrid belonging to a fellow dog walker. Apparently the bobcat had in its sights 2 little lap dogs being walked on the trail by their owner. He was foiled. Bobcats are not terribly big, but they are very ferocious. The coyotes here will be so bold as to snatch a small dog on leash right out of the owner’s hands. The little dogs got lucky.”A few days ago on the mountain a bobcat like this one was treed by a wolf hybrid belonging to a fellow dog walker.
