Alice is Reggie’s paramour. Reggie, of course is the previous raven who is sporting tweeds from LL Bean. Ahhh…. par amour she has designed to accompany Reggie’s new stylishness. Although she is wearing a spring bonnet out of season she is still very spiffy. Her namesake is my friend who feeds the ravens. They now follow her when she takes her dogs out for a walk. Love I think.

‘Reggie’

Winter is in the mountains. You can smell the snow coming. Reggie ordered a little tweedy something from LL Bean in November and he is really happy to have his warm duds now.

original pencil drawing 8 x 10

I was taking a tour through my portfolios and came across my pencil renderings of totem animals. It is so different to finish a pencil drawing as compared to the brief sketches that I do for my watercolors.

She lives in the land of hearts and is a subject of the Queen of Hearts. We cannot speak for the Queen of Hearts because we don’t know her, but this beautiful cat is very compassionate. She wears her heart on the outside so it is visible to all in the kingdom giving tender teachings to each and everyone. ‘Be good to yourself.’

foggy day

The thing about big dogs with no yard is that you must  walk them twice a day. And it doesn’t matter what kind of weather is happening. That’s where I was this morning. It was ‘pea soup’ fog at the lake and raining. This is the kind of day that brings the Great Blue Herons close to shore. They must think that we can’t see them. Well there aren’t many people out on a rainy day to see them. I guess they are more confidant. One of the big guys was standing in the shallows and he had his head pulled way down into his  feathers. Everything including the bird was grey. I stood there for a long time watching him. My dogs apparently thought it wasn’t worth the chase and they left him alone. So it was an eye feast for me. He never moved.

A spirit wolf.

Upon a client’s request I painted this wolf from one of my earlier miniatures. I would prefer to create an entirely new painting because I have more fun doing a new one……but. This painting was in the spirit of a commission for someone who really wanted this wolf to serve as her guardian and she wanted a larger version. The results are just fine and I think he will do the job for her. I think that the eyes of this wolf are more intense than in the miniature wolf.

This is the aceo miniature.
