“I give you this one thought to keep

I am with you still,

I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow

I am the diamond glints on the snow,

I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush,

I am the swift, uplifting rush

of quiet birds in circled flight

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not think of me as gone –

I am with you still, in each new dawn.”

…….a Native American Prayer

This watercolor is a commission that I created for a beautiful Native American woman from one of the Klamath tribes. It depicts her relationship with her late brother. His manitou is the red tail hawk and hers is the wolf. Her story and her loving nature touched my heart. It was my honor to create this painting for her.

His eyes have seen the otherworlds. He travels there, night after night. He knows the intricate path. He leads those that need to be led. His spirit is strong and canny. He is the fox spirit.

“And you? When will you begin that long journey into yourself?” ……..rumi
