Thanks Gigi. Cats are a rest stop for me. I don’t know why but painting a cat reconnects me. I would have to classify myself as a ‘dog person’ but I have no compulsion to draw them as I do cats.
My pleasure, dear Gretchen! You seem to investigate their dispositions so deep as a painter. You have given the sweetest disposition ever in your Isadora 🙂
It would seem that even though we may forgive others we still are very hard on outselves. I think it’s much more difficult to be kind to ourselves. I guess the tapes are so repetitive and have etched a deep groove. Just being aware that we are beating ourselves is a giant step toward the forgiveness.
A really good friend gave me some sound advice, which was that if we keep repeating bad practices then we have to rely on our intelligence which should tell us what is right. But yes, it is so frustrating to keep repeating the same mistakes. But I am learning to be kinder to myself…it just is taking a long time 🙂
We all repeat actions which promote our suffering. Our actions take on different appearances but still the same action. Grace will eventually show us right action and we are free. So no worries….just keep on going. This is what my sojourn here has given me and I pass it along so that it may resonate and relieve pain. May your holidays be joyful.
We can only hope that we earn enlightenment before the end. I send yo every good wish for the Festive season too. I will think of you spending a peaceful time amongst the trees and hills. x
Lovely sentiment, lovely cat painting…the layering of grays has such a nice effect, and the cat looks like they have a few ideas of their own which is charming.
Thank you Haunani. I like layering because so many different colors are created. And…as for cats….they are so interested in everything and I like their eyes to reflect that scope of their ‘9 lives.’

It’s that time of month when we share something of Gretchen Del Rio’s healing art to ease the shadows that nip at our heals.

Beautiful cat. Just beautiful.

Thank you Doda. Cats are so mysterious one can’t help but investigate their dispositions.

So beautiful Gretchen. Maybe I can forgive myself for a few things too, now after reading those word. 🙂
