‘Mayumi’ is a common Japanese name for a woman. It means true, gentle beauty. This siamese cat is certainly elegant and looking very feminine. It is said that cats in your dreams represent feminine power. They deal with esoteric knowledge and spiritual guardianship.

Many years ago in San Francisco I met a lovely Japanese artist by the name of Mayumi Oda. She was painting the inside of a gallery and was absolutely elegant in her painting scrubs. I fell in love with her silk screen art works. I own two of them and have been inspired by this talented and spiritual artist.

Mayumi Oda is well known for her etchings and large size colorful silkscreen prints, depicting female figures, garden scenes, or traditional Buddhist gods shown as goddesses.
