In Art Watercolor Gallery, Things with Feathers, Wild Things on October 8, 2012 at 11:50 amEgret wisdom teaches self-reliance. These egrets… and I think that they are snowy egrets…. are seasonal here at the lake. There are often a few here and there but the largest gathering occurs in the spring. There were 20 or 30 in one tree by the lake last spring or the one before. They looked like magnolia flowers all pure white in the tree top.
the touch
In Art Watercolor Gallery, Wild Things on October 17, 2011 at 7:47 pmEver wish that you could touch a wild animal. I don’t mean one in captivity, but a really wild one. It’s next to impossible because you need the consent of the wild thing. They have fear just like we do. I was visiting Fire Island off Long Island and I touched a wild deer that walked up to me. Now I don’t know if this really counts because those deer are protected on the island and have learned not to fear humans. It was still a rush for me.
