  1. Pure sweetness in a striking resemblance to one of my kitties … Lilac and gold add a wonderful touch.

  2. this is the sweetest… you have an amazing empathy for animals. it shines in your work!

  3. Sweet is indeed the word! Something about it (the pose and the contrast with the metallics, I guess) makes it seem to my eye vaguely Klimt-y. This is both fun and beautiful, and I like it alot! You really capture that way cats have of almost spiraling when they curl up.

    • Thank you so much for your insightful comment. I love the way cats contort their bodies when they nap. The joints do things that amaze the eye. And then are up and alert in a moment. I had a beautiful cat who lived 22 years. She wasn’t stiff until the last.

  4. I love this kitty…. Love the metallic paint and texture it provides!!! Beautiful!! 😊

  5. Can’t wait to try them! I often like to paint art for children’s nurseries and I think the metallic paint would create a very nice texture and interest…that is, if I do it correctly! lol… My biggest problem is over working my paintings! Knowing when to add another layer without messing up what I have already painted.

    • Dear Bren,
You are describing the artist’s dilemma. Just paint. Don’t judge and you will be much happier. I know….easier said than done. Put a stack of ready to go watercolor paper on your table. Paint. Don’t spend more than an hour on each one and just keep going until you are sick of it. Then put them in a drawer and don’t look at them until the next day. These paintings are not precious. Keep on going.

  6. Thanks Gretchen. Great advice! I do love to just paint and paint and paint…:) I will try not to be so critical or take myself too seriously… wonderful idea to just put them away, too. I do find that the less time I spend on a painting the better…. I tend to keep going back in…BIG mistake! LOL! Thanks again! Can’t wait to see what you will do next… I’m sorry to hear that you were unwell….hope you are feeling better. I think your small paintings are beautiful and so inspiring!!

  7. Pure poetry: both poem and your comment. Lovely!
