Yes it is. I had this idea of a live origami….the head of a real life crane. I am not a fan of straight lines, but I persevered because I liked the idea.
In an obscure little park here, there is a statue of Sadako Sasaki, the little girl Hiroshima victim to whom the popularity of the practice of making the thousand-crane strings is said to be attributed. It is constantly festooned with strings of the paper cranes. I don’t know who makes them. It’s touching. I like the real head on the paper crane, too!
