This is one of the lake birds. My frind Alice who is quite petite said that the bird is taller than she. He just wades around in plain site. The world his oyster. Yes he should be smiling. Thanks for your comment Camilla.
I love to watch them hunt…the picture of poise and patience. We have a heronry here not far from where I go running sometimes, and it’s funny to me to see them in their nests, which seem tiny in comparison to the size of the bird. Thanks for sharing this guy!
