The woman, bird, and lilies all seem to be gazing upward into the same mystical heights. Lovely!
I think that we must gaze upward not to catch a glimpse of a deity but, rather, to subconsciously to transcend the ego. So to me this signifies desire for freedom and peace.
Camilla is right. A strong sense of the mystical here.
