Heron teaches to be still and wait for what we need to come to us. This heron was disturbed by Maus yesterday. Wading in the shallows undoubtedly in an excellent fishing place he took to the bare and tangled branches above the beach. The sight was anything but graceful with wings and legs grabbing to stay perched. There he waited where he finally let some loud caws and flew away over the lake.  I have never seen one fly upward to perch. He must have been stalking something important to wait like that.

  1. beautiful!!! and what a lovely dog you have…

  2. I thought that I would post a photo of her since I often refer to my dogs when I post.

  3. I got this on my birthday – what a lovely present… to have a look/see of your beautiful world.

  4. Beautiful painting. The heron almost is a part of his surroundings.
So nice to see a photo of Maus.

    • Thanks. The heron really did blend into the tree. There were so many bare branches that you couldn’t have easily seen the hugh bird. Maus barked at him the entire time that he was perched. Too loud.
