I painted this red nosed pit bull dog image as a donation to a rescue shelter. Too many unwanted pit bulls. Unfortunately they have become ‘throw away’ pets.

  1. so wonderful of you… you’re absolutely right. and i know many that are the most gentle souls.

  2. He looks so friendly. Just like the half pit-bull we had years ago. He also came from a shelter. A very friendly and sweet dog.

    • Not bad dogs. They have been used for ill purposes sadly. I shared my life with a rottweiler for her life. Everyone was afraid of her and she was so gentle with children and adults. There is the stigma.

  3. My neighbor across the hall has the most gorgeous pit named Petra – sweetest goofball there ever was. What terrible damage a bad reputation has done to so many of these dogs. But how wonderful of you to donate to such a worthy cause!

  4. I have never met a mean pit bull, either and come across many. I remember a time when the German Shepherds suffered what the Pit Bulls do today. Behind these dogs is usually the influence of man. Very well painted, Gretchen. I want to hug him.

    • I have owned a number of ‘power’ dogs and they are so misunderstood. Socialization is most important to teach them friendly response. The way they are treated makes all the difference.
