Autumn is a time for contemplating the bounty of the summer in the process of preparing for winter. Must have light and shadow.

I really had intended that this bear be a bit jolly with his leafy ornament but he didn’t feel that way. I never know how anything is going to turn out. Just a flick of the brush or a bleed of the colors and everything changes. I am usually content to let the image determine it’s own destiny.

  1. This is really special. While soft and gentle, your paintings still maintain realistic features…a bear is always a bear. I love the ornament and the eyes.

  2. It has a beautiful autumn feel and a wonderful bear. Sometimes during autumn one just stands and thinks.
