He is a guiding light for his ice bear brothers and sisters. His heart is pure and his word is truth.

A very pleased kitty snuggling a bouquet of fish lollies. Very hard to find. Her human Arthur brought them home to her. They even have seaweed trailers.

He came to visit me yesterday and brought his owner Caroline. He is a gray wolf hybrid.  I thoroughly enjoyed watching him. Wolf hybrids such as Dhyren are rated as to their ‘wolfyness.’ Dhyren has 18 out of 21 wolf points. He is just gorgeous. He hopped up on the couch next to Caroline and he took up 2/3 of the space….It’s a big couch.  A $2,000 dog bed actually. I haven’t quite captured his impish look in this painting. Yes this is a wolf that looks impish and he is. Such a character. Every summer Caroline stocks a baby pool with feeder fish and lets Dhyren play predator. He loves the action. In the fall Caroline takes down the baby pool and the fish that have survived are transferred to an inside fish tank. The only one left now is ‘Moby.’ Dhyren could see him all winter, but couldn’t get to him. ‘Moby’  actually belongs to Caroline’s boyfriend Ian. Dhyren knows this and when he is left alone in the house he chews up Ian’s stack of mail. I’m going to keep working on his expression. he is my wolf muse.

I’m reading a collection of story tales about an owl kingdom called ‘The Guardians of Ga’Hoole.’ One of the owl leading characters is a barn owl named Soren. I really don’t need much inspiration to paint a barn owl. I think that they look quite human with their black eyes and all. I’m picking up all sorts of owl information from the book. Did you know that barn owls have special flight feathers which allow them to fly noiselessly?

She is dreaming of another galaxy which has many silver moons and is a very, very long way from the milky way. She used to think that the milky way was where you could drink all the milk and cream that you could hold in your tummy. In all fairness I must say that she was given this information by her human child. He always tells her these fascinating tales about far away places. Of course she listens intently.

So named after my infamous black cat called Ted Bundy. That was not his original name, but my neighbor nick named him Ted Bundy because he was a serial killer like the human Ted. However and of course, the cat’s prey is animal and  consists of moles, mice, rats and an occasional gopher. He brings home the half eaten remains either to me or the neighbor. I have been patient and  praise him even if the carcass has made it to the living room rug and I happen to step on it in the dark. This painted cat reminds me of Ted because he can often be found in the garden sun flexing his claws during a dream. He is lazy as are all cats when they aren’t pursuing dinner and has enjoyed his life as far as I can tell.
