A lion stalks the lone warrior crossing the desert sands. The surge of muscle strength, the leap. And the desert rose has merged with dinner.

Over a decade ago I painted a very large watercolor of a lion and a warrior goddess. I had a tape which repeated Sting’s ‘Desert Rose’ over and over. I used that tape to complete the painting. When I finished this lion just now that memory surged into my mind. So I named this beauty ‘Desert Rose.’

  1. Look at those eyes! Desert Rose definitely has compassion for his dinner.

  2. Such a vivid painting. I love it.
