I recently had the pleasure of meeting an arctic wolf while walking my cattle dogs at our nearby lake. Her owner told me how he had rescued her….one of his many stories about her. I could have listened for hours. I feel fortunate to have had the experience. Beautiful animal. Very thick fur.

Such an artist approach to blogging..
Your painting works are magnificent and communicate your inner world very successfully.
I wish we had snow-covered houses like yours,as here in Greece we have a very mild winter.Snow has completely forgotten us.

  2. Thanks for your comment. Always make me happy when someone enjoys my art. The main drawback to snow is removing it. Otherwise it is wonderful…..really changes the mood so totally. My dogs go nuts playing in it.

  3. I’ve been staring at the wolf, trying to figure out exactly what makes his eyes so alive. Finally decided it has something about the fact that the light in the left eye is rotated to 1 o’clock. Of course, that’s just on the physical plane…

    • You know….it is said that the eyes are the windows of the soul. If I don’t hit those little windows in the eyes just right then I never feel complete with the painting. So I am really careful to place them just ‘right.’ But then, often the ‘mistakes’ are the best. I never took notice of the rotation in the left eye…..actually it is this wolf’s right eye. Well….could go on and on about the metaphysics of this one. Perhaps I will have to incorporate the ‘rotation’ into more paintings. Thanks for the comment, Jude.
