I’m fascinated by how little it takes to convey an image to the human brain. Except for his piercing, wise eyes, the buffalo is mostly implied, and I love that–he’s like the smoke from the pipe.
To me this is a spirit. It just can’t be confined. And it is amazing how little suggestion we need to complete a picture. Just think about all the pictures in the clouds.
